HealthMutual Group (HMG) was invited to join the inaugural “Qianhai Medical Lecture and Public Hospital High-Quality Development Conference” held on 27 December to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Shenzhen Hospital of Southern Medical University. Signing ceremonies for several major joint projects targeted at responding to national policies and focusing on the future development of healthcare in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) were also held during the event. Among the signing ceremonies, one was on "Direct Billing for Cross-Border Medical Insurance." HMG was the only Hong Kong organization invited to join this initiative. Led by Shenzhen Hospital of Southern Medical University, this initiative aims to partner with leading domestic and international insurance providers and platforms to pilot a cross-border medical data interconnectivity and commercial insurance settlement model. It allows expatriates in Shenzhen and Hong Kong residents to access high-quality medical care at the hospital with "no upfront payment and no administrative hassle," while simultaneously piloting the provision of innovative drugs covered by commercial insurance in public hospitals. Other signatories of the agreement included Ping An Insurance (Group), Ant Group, JD Allianz, Qianhai Big Data Resource Management Center, Big Data China, Mija Health, and Fosun Health. HMG has been actively expanding its medical network in the Greater Bay Area in recent years. This agreement will facilitate the arrangement of insurance clients to receive high-quality cross-border medical services at Shenzhen Hospital, further enhancing the medical concierge services provided to its 700,000+ insurance customers.
