Secured a hospital bed for a seriously ill child
Background
The client’s child was experiencing vomiting, coughing, and fever, prompting the need for hospitalization. The family had already consulted a private family doctor the previous day, who advised hospitalization if the symptoms worsened. Despite contacting several private hospitals, the client was still unable to secure a bed for his child.
Follow-Up
20:30: The case handler contacted the client to gather relevant medical information and preferences regarding hospital admission.
21:30: Checked a number of hospitals, including Tung Wah Hospital (TWAH), Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong (GHK), Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital (HKSH), St. Paul’s Hospital (SPH), and Canossa Hospital, but all were fully occupied.
21:50: After further enquiries, a bed was secured at Adventist Hospital Hong Kong. The client accepted the offer, and the child was admitted for treatment.
